Each of the <span> elements you saw in the underlying HTML has a Label control (<label> tag) associated with it. To configure behaviors for these, you use the <behaviors> tag. Because you are using a <clickBehavior>, you configure this within the <behaviors> tag. Finally, upon a click, you want to set a property on a panel, so you use a <click> action and define it with <setProperty>, which points to the panel. Upon clicking the hideLabel <span> element, the behavior will call a <setProperty> action that will set the visible property of the panel to false. As you d expect, you use a similar setup to configure the click behavior on the other label to set the visible property of the panel to true. Thus, using behaviors, you can add click handlers to controls that normally wouldn t support them. You can see the result of clicking the Hide text in Figure 5-17.

You can associate the mouse hover behavior with any element, which allows you to specify an action that should take place when the mouse hovers over an element. A typical use for this would be to implement a custom tooltip, a context menu, a smart tag, or similar. When using Atlas client-side controls, this is straightforward. You can see the mouse hover example in Figure 5-18.

To configure the hover behavior, you use the <hoverBehavior> tag and set its unHoverDelay attribute to the number of milliseconds you want to wait before the action will take place. This will demonstrate how you can use the pop-up behavior to generate a clickable pop-up menu that can be used for a linkable tooltip, context menu, or smart tag.

Using the Pop-up Behavior When You Hover Over an Element
In this example, you will use the hover behavior to trigger the appearance of a context menu that pops up when you hover over a specific word. The context menu will be a list of three hyperlinks. This can be a useful navigational structure where the links are hidden until you need them, instead of them taking up valuable screen real estate when they are not needed. You can see this in action in Figure 5-20.
