Navigate to Add content Book page to create and nest a book page, as shown in Figure 6-14. Alternatively, you can click add child page when viewing a book page, which automatically nests a page within that page. The only difference between adding an article or page and a book page is a link in the vertical tabs titled book outline. A book page must be part of a book; otherwise, the page will not appear in the book section. To create a new book, select <Create a new book> in the book drop-down. The node title will become the name of the new book, so title capitalization is important. Select a book under parent item to nest a page. Fill in the remaining information, and click Save. 4 covers many of these settings in detail.

The comment module allows users to post comments that are associated with a single node; one node can have multiple comments, but a comment cannot be associated with multiple nodes. A comment is not a node. As previously mentioned, the ability to comment can be turned on or off at the individual node level, while the node s content type controls the remaining comment settings. Comments are managed by selecting Content COMMENTS, as shown in Figure 6-16. A comment is either published and in the Published comments section or unpublished and located in the Unapproved comments approval queue. Comments can also be deleted, but they are permanently removed from the site.

Figure 6-16. The comment management page allows you to manage published and unpublished comments. Depending on the permissions assigned to a role, a comment can be either immediately published to the site or sent to the approval queue. The default Drupal installation only allows authenticated users to view and post comments, which means an anonymous user (that is, those not logged in) will not see the form to post new comments. Changing permissions is discussed in depth in 5. Comments are displayed and managed in much the same way as content. Although Drupal does not offer a mechanism to filter comments, you can sort the comment list by a number of fields by clicking the column header. Updating a comment s status to unpublished causes it to appear in the Unapproved comments queue.

The contact module adds a contact page at http://example.com/contact, as shown in Figure 6-17. The module allows users to send e-mails to one or more people by using a drop-down filled with values you enter. Several fields are automatically added and required, including for the name, e-mail address, subject title, category, and message. Users can select a check box to send an e-mail to themselves and, if logged in, will have the name and e-mail address fields automatically prefilled.

ENABLING AND CONFIGURING CORE MODULES
Figure 6-17. The contact form is located at http://example.com/contact. The contact module is configured by navigating to Structure Contact form, as shown in Figure 6-18. By default the contact form sends an e-mail to one person, the site administrator. Select the edit link for website feedback to change this. If an additional category is added, then a category drop-down appears on the contact page, allowing a user to route an e-mail to a specific person or department.
Figure 6-18. Navigate to Structure Contact form, and select the edit link for Website feedback to configure the default e-mail address for the contact form.
The name of the category is listed in the contact page drop-down, so capitalization matters. One or more e-mail addresses can receive form submissions by entering multiple e-mail addresses separated by a comma. The Auto-reply field is automatically e-mailed to the person (or spam-bot) that submitted the form; leave this empty to turn off e-mail responses. Weight controls the height of the title in the category drop-down on the contact form. If Selected is set to Yes, then the category will be automatically selected in the category drop-down. Setting this to Yes automatically sets other categories to No. Unfortunately, the contact form does not provide a block but only a full-page view. The webform module, which provides a content type to create forms, is a quick and easy solution to fix this. It allows you to create a node with a number of fields, such as for a name, e-mail, and message. The form provides a fullpage view and can be configured (through yet another module) to display forms in a block. Because the webform module provides both full-page and block views, you do not need to use the contact module if you are using the webform module. The webform module is covered in depth in 7.
