Having fun with IntelliMorph and the user setup tool is very simple, so let s see what it s all about. Open up any form, for example Administration Users, click in the grid control of the Overview tab, and you will see the pop-up menu shown in Figure 18-1.

the case with the General and Groups tab pages; however, the Setup menu option is there in all of them.
Note To display the pop-up menu, you must right-click inside the client area of a tab page or one of the
buttons in the lighter colored inner margin, not on the area outside the tab control, by default gray in Axapta.
This form is made up of two tab pages, the first allowing you to manipulate the layout, and the second providing a variety of information about the form you are working with. The Layout tab page is made up of two control groups: Layout: Situated to the right of the form, this area contains the following items: A tree of all the controls on the form that you can expand and collapse to navigate to the exact control that you wish to change Two buttons that allow you to remove or add data fields to the form The Move subgroup, with four buttons that move the selected control to a different relative position
CHAPTER 18 DEVELOPMENT
Properties: Situated to the left of the form, this area contains the following options: Name: This is not an editable field; it simply confirms which control you have selected in the layout tree. Visible: Toggling this button hides and unhides the selected control on the form. Edit Contents: This check box option determines whether the data in the control is editable or not. Skip: This check box option specifies whether the field has a tab stop or not, that is, whether you can tab to it or not. Label: Here you specify a custom label to use for the control, or leave it blank for IntelliMorph to use the default specified in the control definition. Width (in characters): Here you define the width of the control, which is particularly useful if it s a long control, but you never use more than a few characters in your organization. Configuration Keys: This is not an editable field; it specifies the configuration key that the control depends on.
Note If the cursor is placed inside a control when you bring up the pop-up menu and select the Setup
menu option, then the control tree in the layout group of the User Setup form is automatically expanded as needed and the corresponding control is selected.
Note When you make a change to the layout of a form, it is automatically reflected in the respective
form, so if you have the form open, you can immediately see the results.
The form buttons on the right side work as follows: Load: Retrieves a form layout that was previously saved Save: Saves a form layout with a name that you specify and, in conjunction with the Load button, allows you to have different definitions that you can use as you like Reset: Restores the form to the default layout Retrieve from user: Loads the currently active form layout of the specified user The layout control group requires a little more explaining, specifically the control tree, and the Add Fields and Remove buttons. As you may have noticed in Figure 18-2, some of the controls in the control tree are overlaid with small yellow locks, which means that there are restrictions in the customizations that you may make to the controls. The locks may also appear in red, which means that you can t customize them at all. The level of customization allowed is determined by the AllowUserSetup property setting for the Axapta Object Tree (AOT) control that contains the control in question or for a parent control.
