Command-Line Parameters
he configuration utilities provided with Axapta allow you to specify the most important parameters to control Windows clients and Axapta Object Servers using different Windows controls; however, Axapta provides a large set of parameters for which there are no specific controls you can use to set them. You can specify other parameters in one of two ways: the Advanced text-entry field of the General tab page of the client and AOS configuration utilities, or in the target field of the Windows shortcuts you create to run your Axapta client. Table B-1 is a full list of available command-line parameters for Axapta. Table B-1. Available Command-Line Parameters
Parameter
-allowunauth
Description
When using Windows Authentication, this option enables users that do not pass the authentication process to be allowed to log in using a user name and password the default Axapta logon method. aol is an acronym for Application Object Layer. Specify the layer to access upon successful login. Valid layers are sys, syp, gls, glp, dis, dip, los, lop, bus, bup, var, vap, cus, cup, usr, and usp. Access code for -aol. If you want to access a layer other than usr, use it to enter the code for the layer provided by MBS. Connect to the AOS running at a given port number on the specified host. The host is either a DNS hostname (for example, axterix.comix.com) or an IP address (192.88.253.41, for instance). The port number is the number specified for the AOS instance that should be connected to. No instance name needs to be specified because only one instance can be running at a given port on a given machine. Using this option will connect the client directly to the AOS, bypassing the default initial search for the AOS. It thereby eliminates the need for networking that supports UDP traffic. This eases firewall configuration and network address translation (NAT) appliances.
