The rolled-up values are used to indicate the performance of an organization against an objective. In this exercise, you will create a perspective, objective, and KPI. Follow these steps to create the scorecard elements: 1. Open the Scorecard Development Site by selecting Start All Programs Microsoft Office Business Scorecards Accelerator Scorecard Development Site. 2. Click on the Scorecard Elements link in the Scorecard Modules list. 3. On the Scorecard Elements page, expand the Balanced Scorecard Elements folder. 4. Hover over the Perspectives folder until a downward-facing triangle appears. 5. Click the downward-facing triangle and select Create Perspective from the drop-down menu. 6. Name the new perspective Stores and click the OK button. 7. Hover over the Objectives folder until a downward-facing triangle appears. 8. Once the scorecard elements are defined, you can use them to create a scorecard. The scorecard relates the perspectives, objectives, and KPIs. In this exercise, you will create a scorecard that shows sales performance for book titles. Follow these steps to define the scorecard: 1. Click on the Scorecard Builder link in the Scorecard Modules list. 2. Hover over the All Scorecards folder until a downward-facing triangle appears. 3. Click the downward-facing triangle and select Create Folder from the drop-down menu. 4. In the pop-up dialog, name the new folder Exercise 6-2 and click the OK button. 5. Hover over the Exercise 6-2 folder until a downward-facing triangle appears. 6. Click the downward-facing triangle and select Create Scorecard from the drop-down menu. 7. Name the new scorecard Titles and click the OK button. 8. Hover over the Titles scorecard node until a downward-facing triangle appears. 9. Click the downward-facing triangle and select Add Perspective from the drop-down menu. 10. On the pop-up dialog, check the Stores perspective and click the OK button. 11. In the Scorecards Elements section, hover over the Stores perspective until a downward-facing triangle appears. 12. 13. In the pop-up dialog, check the Increase Sales objective and click the OK button. 14. In the Scorecards Elements section, hover over the Increase Sales objective until a downward-facing triangle appears. 15. Click the downward-facing triangle and select Add KPI from the drop-down menu. 16. In the pop-up dialog, check the Units Sold KPI option and click the OK button. 17. Hover over the Titles scorecard node until a downward-facing triangle appears. 18. Click the downward-facing triangle and select Preview Scorecard from the drop-down menu. You should see the scorecard preview shown in Figure 6-14.
