Once the send and receive ports are properly configured, they must be bound to the orchestration. Once again, this is accomplished using the BizTalk Explorer. In the BizTalk Explorer, you will find all of the deployed orchestrations listed under the Orchestrations folder. The binding process starts when you right-click an orchestration and select Bind from the context menu. Binding an orchestration allows you to select the ports that the orchestration will use. Once the orchestration is bound to the appropriate ports, it must be enlisted. Enlisting an orchestration allows BTS to properly configure the environment in which the orchestration will run. This configuration establishes the communication necessary to properly connect the ports and orchestrations with the associated external systems. Enlisting an orchestration can

also be done directly in the BizTalk Explorer by right-clicking the orchestration and selecting Enlist from the context menu. Additionally, you can enlist orchestrations using the BizTalk Server Administration console. The final step in deploying the BTS solution is to start the orchestration. Once the orchestration starts, message processing will begin. You can start an orchestration using the BizTalk Explorer or the BizTalk Administration Console. When you start the orchestration, BTS will automatically start any dependencies, such as ports.

The WSS Adapter allows BTS to exchange messages with SharePoint Document Libraries. Because BTS messages are actually XML documents, InfoPath forms are a natural way to accept input from an information worker that can be processed by a BTS orchestration. In this exercise, you will create a set of InfoPath forms that can be used to request ballpoint pens from the office manager. BTS will process the form and automatically approve or reject the request.

BTS relies on XML schemas to define the messages that are processed by an orchestration. These schemas define the incoming messages as well as any outgoing messages. Additionally, you can define transforms that relate one schema to another. In this section, you will create a new BTS project and build the schemas that define the pen request and the automated response. Follow these steps to create the schemas: 1. In Visual Studio.NET, select File New Project from the menu. 2. In the New Project dialog, click the BizTalk Projects folder in the Project Types list. 3. In the Templates list, select Empty BizTalk Server Project. 4. Name the new project BTS Pen Request. 5. Click the OK button to create the new project. 6. When the new project is created, select Project Add New Item from the menu. 7. In the Add New Item dialog, select Schema from the Templates list. 8. Name the new Schema Schema_Request_Pen. 9. Click the Open button to open the schema in the BizTalk Schema Editor. 10. In the schema tree, right-click the Root node and select Rename from the context menu. 11. Rename the node as Request. 12. Right-click the Request node and select Insert Schema Node Child Field Element. 13. Name the new field Date.
