1. Navigate to your message with the Attachment icon showing (paperclip on envelope) and click it.
At the very top of the e-mail message, you will see 1 Attachment or 2 Attachments, depending on the number of attachments.
3. Click the trackpad and select Open Attachment.

If the document is a Microsoft Office document format, you will then be presented with the option to View or Edit with Documents to Go. For a quick view, without the option to edit or change the document, select View.

To really see the document the way it was meant to be seen, and get the option to edit the document, we suggest you select Edit with Documents to Go.
If you get an error message such as Document Conversion Failed it is very likely that the attachment is not a format that is viewable by the BlackBerry Attachment Viewer. Check out the list of supported attachment types on page 250.
E-mail Attachment Viewer Tips and Tricks
Like all features of your BlackBerry, there are some shortcuts and tricks that might prove helpful when working with attachments using the generic BlackBerry attachment viewer: To search for specific text inside an attachment, press F. To switch between showing tracked changes and showing the final version, press H. To jump to the top of the attachment, press T. To jump to the bottom of the attachment, press B.

(Spreadsheet/table only) If you want to change the width of a column in a spreadsheet, press W. (Spreadsheet/table only) If you want go to a specific cell inside a spreadsheet, press G and then type the cell name, e.g., C3. (Spreadsheet/table only) If you wish to view the content of a cell in a spreadsheet, press the Space key or simply click the trackpad. (Pictures/PowerPoint presentation only) To view a slide show presentation, press A. If you want to stop the slide show presentation, hold the Escape key. To switch views in the presentation, press Z.
Editing with Documents to Go
Once you select Edit with Documents to Go the document will open on your screen. You can scroll through just like you were reading a Word document on your computer. What are all those asterisks in the menus These are items that are only available in the Premium edition of Documents to Go. You can upgrade right from one of the menu items in the application. Press the Menu key and select Try Premium Features. If you want to edit and make changes to the document, just press the Menu key and select Edit Mode from the menu.
If you want to adjust the formatting of the document, just press the Menu key and select Format. You will then see the formatting options available to you (Figure 12-5). NOTE: Sometimes Documents to Go gets updated in BlackBerry App World. Every so often, check App World to see if a new version is available.
