Creating or Editing the Introduction Page Part of editing your presentation is to make sure the introduction page of your presentation contains the correct information. If you used the New Presentation Wizard to create the initial presentation, the information you entered on the Presentation Information page appears in the Introduction page area of the Table of Contents tab. The introduction page displays information about your presentation. This page appears while your presentation is loading in your audience s Web browsers. The page is optional; however, by providing information, you can tell your audience about your presentation and its purpose before they begin to watch it. You can click Preview to see the introduction page for the current presentation. Previewing enables you to see the page as it will appear to your audience. After you preview, you can go back and make changes if necessary. For example, if you click Preview and see that the main background color is not the color you like, you could click Presentation

Page 179 Scheme on the Edit menu, and then choose a different background color. This color then appears as the background of the introduction page, as well as in the presentation itself when one of the Standard presentation templates is applied to the presentation. Previewing Presentations As you edit your presentation, you can preview the presentation in the Preview Presentation tab. This tab allows you to see how the presentation will display after it is published and played back in a Web browser. You can then go back to the Media tab and make additional changes to the project, as necessary. Previewing in the Preview Presentation tab is different from previewing in the Media tab. When you preview in the Media tab, only selected tracks play back in the monitor. This is useful for editing individual files and tracks. However, it does not enable you to see how all the elements work together. To improve system performance when previewing a presentation in the Preview Presentation tab, hide the timeline by clicking the Hide Timeline button on the timeline. Setting Security Zones for Previewing In Producer, you can determine which Web content security zone you want Microsoft Internet Explorer to use for previewing presentations in Microsoft Producer. The security zone used for previewing presentations in Internet Explorer is determined by the Choose which Microsoft Internet Explorer Web content security zone is used for previewing option on the Security tab of the Options dialog box. For example, in Figure 9.13, the Internet security zone settings in Internet Explorer are applied when previewing presentations in Producer.

Figure 9.13 The security zone used for previewing. Whichever security zone setting you use, you should set the Run ActiveX controls and plug-ins option in Internet Explorer to Enable or Prompt in order to preview your presentation. This setting is necessary because Microsoft ActiveX controls are used when you preview your presentation. You can see or change your security settings in Internet Explorer by doing the following: 1. Start Microsoft Internet Explorer. 2. On the Tools menu, click Internet Options. 3. In the Internet Options dialog box, click the Security tab. The security zone specified here is also used for previewing presentations in Microsoft Producer. 4. Click Custom Level and then choose the security setting you want to apply for the option Run ActiveX controls and plug-ins. 5. Click OK in the Security Settings dialog box, click Yes to confirm the change, and then click OK in the Internet Options dialog box.
