Changing Screen Orientation on a Tablet PC
Depending on what task you re performing and where you are using your Tablet PC, you might use it in either landscape or portrait orientation. For example, some documents are easier to read in Portrait mode, but wide documents, such as spreadsheets, are viewed better in Landscape mode.

You can change screen orientation by either using the hardware button or buttons located near the Tablet PC screen, or by using the Change screen orientation command.

In this exercise, you will adjust the screen orientation of your Tablet PC, as well as modify the application sequence in which the orientation changes.
BE SURE TO log on to your Tablet PC before beginning this exercise.
In the notification area, tap the Change tablet and pen settings icon.

To start rotating the screen orientation, tap Change screen orientation. The screen orientation rotates 90 degrees. To return your screen to its initial orientation, repeat steps 1 and 2 three times. To configure the orientation sequence rather than use the default one, in the notification area, tap the Change tablet and pen settings icon, and then tap Properties.

In the Screen Orientation area, tap the Change button.
In the Orientation Sequence Settings dialog box, tap the 2 arrow, and then tap Secondary Landscape. Tap the 3 arrow, and then tap Primary Portrait. To close the open dialog boxes and apply the new settings, double-tap OK. To test the new sequence, in the notification area, tap the Change tablet and pen settings icon, and then tap Change screen orientation. The screen orientation rotates 180 degrees.

To return to the original sequence, in the notification area, tap the Change tablet and pen settings icon, and then tap Properties. In the Screen Orientation area in the Tablet and Pen Settings dialog box, click the Change button to the right of Sequence. In the Orientation Sequence Settings dialog box, click the 2 arrow, and then click Primary Portrait. Click the 3 down arrow, click Secondary Landscape, and then tap OK. To close the Tablet and Pen Settings dialog box and apply the default settings, tap OK.
