clicking the Advanced button. Removing the Tsaccounts group and then manually adding each of the accountant s domain user accounts to the Remote Desktop Users group will leave you in exactly the same position as before. B. Incorrect: This will not solve the problem because the problem is caused by special permissions assigned to the Remote Desktop Users group. C. Incorrect: The problem is not the User Access (Allow) permission, but the special permissions that have been assigned to the Remote Desktop Users group. D. Correct: The problem is that the Set Information advanced permission is set, allowing the accountants control over their sessions that they should not have.

Correct Answers: C A. Incorrect: If the hard disk drive hosting the system had failed, you wouldn t be able to ping the server. If the problem were that another hard disk failed, people would be able to connect through Terminal Services. Because they can t connect and you can ping, this is not the problem. B. Incorrect: Once you ve purchased Terminal Services licenses, they will work as long as the server is functional. C. Correct: Terminal Server comes with a built-in 120-day grace period, which is coincidently the number of days between March 1 and June 28. After this period has expired, users will be able to connect only if they have a valid license from a license server. D. Incorrect: If the user s domain accounts had expired, they would be unable to log on to the domain and would be complaining about that rather than complaining about not being able to access the terminal server.

Correct Answers: A A. Correct: Of the options presented, this seems most likely to resolve the problem. If disconnected sessions weren t being ended, it would appear that there were more active connections than there actually were. If disconnected sessions are ended after 10 minutes, connections would be freed up for other users. B. Incorrect: Although this would solve the problem, it would do so at the expense of performance. The problem is that disconnected sessions are persisting on the server, blocking new users from accessing it. C. Incorrect: If this limit were set, no matter what a person was doing, that person s session would be cut off after 30 minutes. The problem is disconnected sessions persisting. D. Incorrect: Idle sessions aren t the problem because an idle session still has an active connection. What needs to be eliminated are inactive connections, where there is no client connected to the server, that are blocking new active connections from occurring.

Configure File System Permissions
To set permissions on objects (folders and files) within the file system, you must be able to add entries to the ACL of the object. ACLs are part of the NTFS file system, so that file system must be installed on any computer on which there are resources that you wish to secure through the file system. NTFS permissions function in the same way as share permissions in terms of blending to effective permissions. All the SIDs that are listed in your user token are compared with the entries in the ACL for a resource. All of the permissions for your various SIDs are sorted, and the most liberal permission is given. Exceptions to this liberal blending occur if any of the permissions associated with one of your SIDs is a deny permission: In that case, the deny permission overrides.
