In this practice, you will practice various parts of the task of designing forest and domain trust models, including raising the forest functional level, creating a forest trust, choosing the best type of trust relationship, and choosing a technique to restrict user access to resources. Complete the following exercises. If you are unable to answer a question, review the lesson materials and try the question again. You can find answers to the questions in the Questions and Answers section at the end of this chapter.

5. Repeat steps 1 through 4 for the Tailspin Toys domain controller.
Exercise 2: Creating a Forest Trust
Complete the following steps to practice creating a forest trust: 1. Log on as a member of the Domain Admins and Enterprise Admins groups to DC1 of Wingtip Toys. (This will be the local domain in the trust relationship wizard.) 2. Open Active Directory Domains and Trusts. 3. Right-click the domain node for the forest root domain, and select properties from the context menu. 4. Select the Trust tab, and click New Trust. 5. Enter the DNS name of the other forest. This name is taken from the root domain name of the forest in this case, tailspintoys.com. This forest will be referred to as the specified forest in the trust wizard. 6. Select Forest Trust, and then click Next. 7. On the Direction Of Trust page, select the trust direction Two-Way Trust and click Next.

8. Select the Outgoing Trust Authentication level in this case, Forest Wide Authen tication and click Next. 9. Select the Incoming Trust Authentication level in this case, Forest Wide Authen tication and click Next. 10. Notice the summary information, and click Next. 11. Confirm the incoming trust, and click Next. 12. Confirm the outgoing trust, and click Next. 13. Review trust status, and click Next. 14. Review the Trust properties page, and click Finish. Wingtip Toys should be listed in the trusted (outgoing) and trusting (incoming) trust boxes.
Exercise 3: Choosing the Best Type of Trust Relationship
Read the following scenario and then answer the questions that follow. Scenario Humongous Insurance provides health insurance for employees of your company, Tailspin Toys. Humongous Insurance is working on developing new types of insurance for IT operations. To do so, they have established a Windows Server 2003 forest as the heart of an extranet and invited their customers with IT operations to par ticipate. The forest contains three domains two of which have resources that Humongous Insurance wants to make available to its partners. Review Questions Answer the following questions.
1. What is the best type of trust relationship between Tailspin Toys and Humongous Insurance to allow Tailspin Toys employees to work with Humongous Insurance resources 2. Why is this the best type of trust relationship

Exercise 4: Choosing a Technique to Restrict User Access to Resources
Read the following scenario and then answer the questions that follow. Scenario You discover that the Tailspin Toys finance department has been running its own forest. Users in the finance department have been using two accounts: one for the Tailspin Toys forest and one for the finance department forest. To remove the finance department users need to use two accounts, you decide to create a trust between the two forests. Users in the finance department will have one account their corporate account. Access to appropriate resources will be granted across the trust. There are only 20 Finance department employees and a single domain in the finance forest. Review Questions Answer the following questions.
1. What technique will you use to restrict user access to the resources in the finance department forest
