Value: replication_source_path Default: none This parameter indicates the location of the files to be used to create a new domain controller. The value must be the fully qualified path to a folder on the local computer where the files have been copied. The parameter is used to indicate that the bulk of the directory data replication is drawn from backup files that have been restored to a vol

tion cannot be performed entirely from copied files; access to another domain controller is still required. If this value is present and non-empty, then data replication is performed using the restored files. If this value is not present or is empty, then replication is performed from another domain controller on the network. If the value refers to a valid set of restored backup files, then any value for the ReplicaDomainDNSName parameter is ignored. The domain name to which the restored files belong takes precedence.

Value: Yes | No Default: No This parameter specifies the functional level for a new forest. Use this parameter only when the destination computer is a domain controller upgraded from Windows NT 4 to a member of the Windows Server 2003 family and is the first domain controller in a new forest.
Yes sets the forest functional level to Windows Server 2003 interim. If you set the functional level to Windows Server 2003 interim, you cannot change the functional level to enable Windows 2000 domain controllers later. No sets the forest functional level to Windows 2000.
Appendix B
Active Directory Setup Answer File Parameters
SiteName
Value: site_name Default: default_ first_site This parameter specifies the name of an existing site at which to place the new domain controller. If not specified, a suitable site is selected using the current site and subnet configuration of the forest.
Syskey
Value: none | system key Default: none This parameter only applies if the ReplicationSourcePath parameter is specified. This value is used if the restored files used to install a replica indicate that the system key must be supplied by the user. If the restored files indicate that the system key must be supplied on floppy disk, then the system looks for the key on drive A.
SysVolPath
Value: path_to_database_file Default: %Systemroot%\Sysvol This parameter specifies the fully qualified, non-UNC path to a directory on a fixed disk of the local computer. If the directory exists, it must be empty. If the directory does not exist, it is created. The disk must be formatted with NTFS version 5.
TreeOrChild
Value: Tree | Child Default: Child This parameter is provided for backward compatibility with Windows 2000 unat
tended setup. For unattended setup of a member of the Windows Server 2003 family, use NewDomain instead. This parameter specifies that the new domain is the root of a new tree or a child of an existing domain. This parameter must be specified with a valid value if domain is selected in the ReplicaOrNewDomain parameter. The settings are configured as follows:
Tree specifies that the new domain is the root of a new tree. The CreateOrJoin or NewDomain parameter must be specified with a valid value. Child specifies that the new domain is a child of an existing domain.
