If you have previously created a Network Load Balancing cluster on your server, as described in the Lesson 2 practice in this chapter, you must disable it before you perform this practice. To do this, open Network Load Balancing Manager, select the cluster you cre= ated, and, from the Cluster menu, click Delete.

2. In the Action selector, choose Create New Cluster, and then click OK. The New Server Cluster Wizard appears. 3. Click Next. The Cluster Name And Domain page appears. Verify that the correct domain name is chosen in the Domain selector. Type cluster in the Cluster Name text box, and then click Next. The Select Computer page appears. The name of your computer appears in the Computer Name text box. 4. Click Next. The Analyzing Configuration page appears. The wizard proceeds to analyze the system resources and configuration to determine whether it can create a cluster. When the process is complete, notice that the Finding Common Resources On Nodes and Checking Cluster Feasibility entries are flagged with a yellow triangle containing an exclamation point. When you expand these entries, you see that the flags indicate that the wizard failed to locate a shared quorum resource and that it found only one network interface adapter in the computer. Neither of these conditions prevents you from creating the single-node cluster. 5. Click Next. The IP Address page appears. 6. Type 10.0.0.110 in the IP Address text box, and then click Next. The Cluster Ser vice Account page appears. 7. Type Administrator in the User Name text box and the password for the Admin istrator account in the Password text box. Then click Next. The Proposed Cluster Configuration page appears. When creating an actual production cluster, you should create a new account with administrative privileges to the servers that will become your cluster nodes and use that as the cluster service account. For the purposes of this practice, you need not bother. 8. Review the configuration analysis displayed on the page, and then click Next. The Creating The Cluster page appears. 9. The wizard proceeds to create the cluster and start the cluster service. 10. When the wizard completes the process and activates the Next button, click it. The Completing The New Server Cluster Wizard page appears. 11. Click Finish. 12. Leave the Cluster Administrator window open for the next exercise.
