Use the Paragraph dialog box with caution. If you need to format a particular paragraph beyond HTML s defaults, you ll most likely need to format other paragraphs in your Web the same way. If you format each of these paragraphs individually, you ll probably miss a setting or two in at least some of them. Changing all the individually formatted paragraphs later will cost you even more time and leave you prone to further errors. For these reasons, you should always consider using themes or shared CSS to control specialized paragraph formatting.

The effects flagged CSS only appear only in browsers that support CSS; other browsers ignore them. For all the settings flagged CSS only, you can enter a unit of measure as well as a numeric value. The values 1 and 1px both mean 1 pixel, but you can also enter measurements such as 0.5in and 3mm.
For more information about CSS units of measure, refer to Table 21-12, CSS Units of Measure, on page 617.
Formatting Lists
In HTML terminology, lists are collections of paragraphs the browser will format with leading bullets or numbers. Because lists inherently have a structure to them, creating and updating them is slightly trickier than working with normal paragraphs. Fortunately, FrontPage takes care of this complexity for you.
Creating Bulleted and Numbered Lists
As shown in Figure 8-11, Figure 8-12, and Figure 8-13, FrontPage supports three kinds of bulleted and numbered lists:
Picture Bullets Plain Bullets Numbers
FrontPage uses a picture that you select as the item identifier. FrontPage instructs the browser to display a standard bullet character.
FrontPage instructs the browser to sequentially number the list items.
