The second method uses menus, and therefore controls frame sizes numerically. You can specify frame sizes relative to each other, as a percentage of available space, or as a specific number of pixels. Here s the procedure to display the Frame Properties dialog box:

Figure 15-6. The Frame Properties dialog box controls the name, size, and other settings pertinent to a frame.
In the Frame Properties dialog box, use the following settings to control the size and other attributes of current frame:
Name
Enter the name that hyperlinks will specify to load their contents into the selected frame.
Initial Page
Specify the URL of the Web page that will initially appear in the frame (that is, when the browser first loads the frames page). Use the Browse button to locate the page. Specify a URL that contains more information about the

Title
Enter some text that describes the frame.
Frame Size
Use this group of options to control the frame s display size. As you might expect, frames have two dimensions:
Width/Column Width
Use this setting to control the width of a frame or column. If the frame in a column with other frames of uniform width, the name of this box is Column Width (as it is in Figure 15-6), and the setting controls all frames in the column. Otherwise, the box s name is Width, and the setting controls one frame. In either case, specify both a width and the corresponding unit of measure.
Height/Row Height
Use this setting to control the height of a frame or row. If the frame resides in a row with other frames of uniform height, the name of this box is Row Height, and the setting controls all frames in the row. Otherwise, the box s name is Height, and the setting controls one frame. In either case, specify both a height and the corresponding unit of measure. These units specify frame sizes relative to each other. If the frames page is divided horizontally into two frames with relative sizes of 1 and 4, the frames will occupy 1/5 and 4/5 of the available window space, respectively. Relative sizes of 2 and 8 would produce identical results, as would 5 and 20.
The preceding measurements have three possible units of measure:
15
Relative
Percent
These units allocate portions of the frames page. A frame sized at 33 percent would occupy 1/3 of the horizontal or vertical space available to the frames page.
Pixels Margins
These dimensions are straightforward. The frame will occupy the specified number of pixels or dots on the visitor s monitor. Use this group of options to control the size of margins within the selected
frame:
Width
Use this setting to specify the number of pixels you want between the frame contents and the left and right borders. The number applies to both the left border and the right border.
Height
Use this setting to specify the number of pixels you want between the frame contents and the top and bottom borders. This number applies to both the top and bottom borders. Use these two settings to control resizing and scroll bars: Select this check box to let visitors resize the frame based on the size of their window. Otherwise, clear it.
