1 Make sure that your connection to the Internet is working. 2 Open the Web page that should contain the text hyperlink or static map, and set the
insertion point where you want it to be.
3 Choose Web Component from the Insert menu, or click the Web Component button
on the Standard toolbar.
Web Component
4 When the Insert Web Component dialog box appears, choose Expedia Components
from the Component Type List on the left.
5 In the Choose An Expedia Component list on the right, select one of these options,
and then click Finish:
Link To A Map Static Map
Displays a hyperlink containing a physical address or place name. Clicking the hyperlink displays a map of that place. Displays a clickable map.
6 When the Find A Map On Expedia.com page appears, click Next. 7 When the What Would You Like To Locate wizard page shown in Figure 30-1
appears, take either of these actions, and then click Next:

Select this option if you want to specify the name of a public place. Continue by selecting a region and then typing a place name. This can be the name of a city, province, country, continent, island, natural landmark, historic place, or almost anything else. Easter Island, Mount Everest, North Prairie, Parthenon, Smithsonian Institution, Stonehenge, and Zanzibar are all acceptable, for example.
Using Automatic Web Content Components
Figure 30-1. This wizard is actually a series of Web pages that come from Expedia s Web site.
8 Unless you were incredibly precise in step 6, the What Would You Like To Locate page
will take on the appearance of Figure 30-2. This occurs because Expedia s database contains more than one place matching your description. Either correct your original entry or choose an item from the Best Matches list, and then click Next. This step clearly shows the power of using Web pages as wizard pages. The page you see in Figure 30-2 comes from Expedia s Web server, and it validates input against Expedia s geographic database.

Instead, celebrate your success by clicking the Finish button. Figure 30-3 shows the default Expedia map for Hollywood Blvd. & Vine St., Los Angeles, CA, 90028. This is exactly the text that a Link To A Map component would display. The Static Map component displays the map you see in the figure, but not the movement controls and 769

Using the MSN Stock Quote Component
This component creates an HTML form where your visitors can enter a stock exchange symbol and receive the current price and other statistics for that stock. The form submits the request to http://moneycentral.msn.com for processing, and MSN MoneyCentral sends back the stock quotation Web page shown in Figure 30-4. Because this is a noninteractive component, it accepts no configuration parameters. The procedure for inserting it is therefore quite simple:

In Design view, open the Web page that will contain the stock quote request form. Set the insertion point where you want the request form to appear. Choose Web Component from the Insert menu. When the Insert Web Component dialog box appears, choose MSN Components from the Component Type list on the left. Finish.
