You can affect the output in several ways for example, by assigning a value to the Namespace and Prefix properties of the DataSet, DataTable, and DataColumn objects. Or you can create a treelike structure by setting the Nested property of existing relationships to True:

The ColumnMapping property of the DataColumn class lets you customize the output even more. This property is a MappingType enumerated value that can be Element (the default), Attribute (the column is mapped to an XmlAttribute node), SimpleCon tent (the column is mapped to an XmlText node), or Hidden (the column doesn t appear in the XML output). For example, consider this code:

The only relevant difference in the output produced by the WriteXml method is that GetXml doesn t produce the < xml> processing instruction at the beginning of the XML text.
Writing the Schema and the DiffGram
Unlike the GetXml method, all the overloaded versions of WriteXml take an additional (optional) XmlWriteMode argument, which can be one of the following values: IgnoreSchema (default, doesn t write the schema), WriteSchema (writes the schema and the table data), or DiffGram (writes the current contents of the DataSet but preserves infor mation about rows that were modified since the most recent AcceptChanges method).
