Adding Web Parts to Zones
Once your page contains a Web Part Zone, you ll no doubt want the zone to contain one or more Web Parts. There are two ways to begin:
If the zone contains no Web Parts, it will display a link titled Click To Insert A Web Part.
Click this link to set the insertion point inside the zone, and to display the Web Parts Gallery task pane.
If the zone already contains one or more Web Parts:
1 Set the insertion point inside the zone, making sure that neither the zone nor any existing Web Part is selected. 2 Choose Web Part from the Insert menu, or choose Web Part Gallery from the drop-down menu on any other task pane s title bar.

Inside Out
Setting the insertion point inside a Web Part Zone can be tricky Clicking an existing Web Part selects the Web Part, as indicated by an orange border. Clicking a Web Part Zone selects the Web Part Zone, as indicated by a blue border. If either of these objects is selected when you insert a Web Part, the new Web Part will replace the selection. To avoid this, press the arrow keys until the insertion point is inside the Web Part Zone, but no blue or orange border appears.
To continue inserting the Web Part, proceed as follows:
1 In the Web Parts task pane, under Browse, select a gallery. If in doubt, try the <site name> Gallery first. 2 Under Web Part List, find the Web Part you want to insert. Notice that the task pane displays only ten Web Parts at a time: To view and potentially select additional Web Parts, you might need to click the Next link that appears after the tenth item. To view the tenth item and the Next link, you might need to scroll down the Web Part list. 3 Take either of these actions:
Select the Web Part you want and then click the Insert Selected Web Part button. Drag the Web Part you want into the Web Part Zone you want.
Within a few moments, the Web Part you selected should appear, complete with current data. Web Parts that display lists might appear blank if the list is empty.
