Windows SharePoint Services normally maintains the URLs on this tab automatically. However, you can override the following settings if necessary.
Default View Page
Select the Web page that appears when team members initially choose to view the list or library. This is the URL that represents the list or library in places like the site s Quick Launch Bar and its Documents And Lists page.
10
Display Item Form New Item Form Edit Item Form
Specify the URL of the page that displays individual items in the list. This field doesn t appear for libraries. Specify the URL of the page that adds new items to the list. Specify the URL of the page that modifies existing list items. This field is absent for all types of libraries.
Test Data Sources by Creating Data Views. To test a new or modified list, library, or data source, drag it onto a new, empty Web page. This displays the object s fields and content, even in FrontPage design view. What this does, by the way, is create a new Data View Web Part that you can add to your site and offer to your team members. The next chapter will explain much more about Data View Web Parts.
