Configuring a Links Web Part
Any Web Part Page can display a Links Web Part configured with any links you want. This displays links to subsites, parent sites, the server home page, and so forth. If you wish, it can also display links to SharePoint sites you use frequently. If the page where you want the list of links to appear doesn t already have a Links Web Part, proceed as follows:
1 Identify the Links list you want to use. This could be either: A Links list that a template created when it initialized your site. A new list that you create by clicking the Create command at the top of any page and then, in the Lists section of the Create Page, clicking Links. 2 Display the page where you want to add a Links Web Part. 3 Open the Modify This Page drop-down list and choose the view you want to modify. Shared View Applies to all team members who view the page and haven t selected Personal View. To modify this view of a site-level page, you must have the Add And Customize Pages right. By default, only members of the Administrator and Web Designer groups have this right. Personal View Is a page layout unique to each team member. Each member can create or modify their own personal view, but only if they have the Add/ Remove Private Web Parts right. By default, the Administrator, Web Designer, and Contributor groups have this right.
