Standard View Click this link if you want the view to display the data in a report-like format. Datasheet View Click this link if you want the view to display the data in a spreadsheet-like grid that permits in-place editing. Calendar View Click this link if you want the view to display the data in a calendar format.
Clicking one of these links will display a Create View, Create Datasheet View, or Create Calendar View page like the one shown in Figure 6-17. As you might suspect, it takes a very long Web page to configure all options in a view; the figure therefore shows all possible sections collapsed. To expand or contract each section, click the plus or minus icon that precedes the section name.

Make This The Default View Select this check box if you want this view to be the one that appears when you first browse the list. If you select the check box, however, then you must also set View Audience (the next field) to Create A Public View. Choose one of these options.
6
Audience
Create A Personal View Select this option if you don t want the new view to appear under Select A View for anyone but you. Contrary to the information that appears on the Create View page, only the person who creates a personal view can access it or modify it. Other users can t, even if given the URL. Create A Public View Select this option if you want the new view to appear under Select A View for everyone.

Base Calendar On The Following Interval Select this option if you want list items to appear on the calendar every day, beginning at some date from the list and ending on another date from the list. Then, select the fields that will provide the two dates.

Calendar Settings
In this section, choose the format in which the calendar should first appear: Month View, Week View, or Day View. However, regardless of which view appears first, team members can display the other views at will.
6
Position From Left Select the drop-down list for any column to specify the position where you want the column to appear. This works very much like the drop-down lists on the Change Field Order page described earlier in this chapter. For Calendar views, the Columns section contains these two options.
