In addition to selecting the articles to be included into this publication, you can set specific article properties either by highlighting the article and clicking the Article Properties button and selecting Set Properties of Highlighted Table Article, or by selecting Set Properties of All Table Articles. The latter invokes the Article Properties page, as shown in Figure 20-11. Here you can set many article properties. There is typically no need to change these properties. Click OK to exit this box.

8. If you have chosen transactional publication with updating subscribers, you will see the Article Issues page as shown in Figure 20-12. This informs you and prompts you for verification that a unique identifier column needed to be added to the tables. This is a requirement of updating subscribers. If you have chosen this option, click Next to continue.

9. Once you have selected the Articles, you will see the Filter Table rows page. As mentioned earlier in this chapter, a table can be either vertically or horizontally filtered. The Filter Table Rows page allows you to either continue on or to click on the Add, Edit, or Delete buttons to add or modify row filters. This is shown in Figure 20-13. Clicking the Add button allows you to add a filter. Clicking Next continues to the next page.

10. By clicking Add, you see the Add Filter page. This page allows you to add a WHERE clause to the replication filter to select only specific rows. In most cases, you will not want to filter the table rows; instead, you will replicate the entire table. The Add Filter page is shown in Figure 20-14. Select the table, modify the WHERE clause for all tables that you want to filter, and click OK when you are done.
Figure 20-14 The Add Filter page.
11. If you have added filters, you are returned to the Filter Table Rows page, but the new filter is visible. Otherwise, the Filter Table rows page stays the same. Note
Multiple filters can be added to the same publication.
12. Once you have created the filter and selected the Next button, the Snapshot Agent page appears. On this page, you can indicate that the snapshot should run immediately, on a regular schedule, or neither, as shown in Figure 20-15. The Change button allows you to schedule the agent. This invokes the Job Scheduler Properties page that you have seen several times in this book. Click Next to continue. 13. In the Agent Security page, you must specify the security account for each of the agents that will be running. This example uses a Transactional publication. Therefore, it is necessary to supply credentials for the Snapshot Agent and the Log Reader Agent, as shown in Figure 20-16. If we had chosen a Transactional publication with updatable subscriptions, it would have been necessary to supply credentials for the

Snapshot Agent, the Log Reader Agent, and the Queue Reader Agent. Select the Security Settings button to set the security of each agent.

14. Each of the Agent security pages is slightly different from the others but contains basically the same information as the Snapshot Agent security page, as shown in Figure 20-17. Select the security appropriate for your needs and configuration. Select OK when you have completed the security settings.

15. The Shapshot Agent Security page includes both the Snapshot Agent security settings for the process on the distributor and the security settings for the account running against the publisher. Once you have set all of the security settings, you are returned to the agent security page. However, this time the security settings are filled in. Click Next to continue. 16. When you have completed all of the agent specification pages, you will see the Wizard Actions page. This page allows you either to create the publication or to script the steps necessary to create the publication. It is a good idea to keep a copy of the steps necessary to create the publication by scripting them. In the event that you need to recreate the publication, you can run the script. If you choose to script the publication, the Script File Properties page prompts you for the filename and type of the script file.
