If the BIOS is not on the incompatible BIOS list, Setup checks the BIOS date. If the BIOS is not on the incompatible BIOS list and the BIOS date is later than 1/1/99, an ACPI HAL is installed. 4. If the BIOS is not on the incompatible BIOS list and the BIOS date is earlier than 1/1/99, Setup determines whether the BIOS is known to be compatible with Windows XP Professional.
