4 The default operand is a constant You may enter the constant in the box, or you may change the operand to select Values From List If you enter the constant, you must match the case exactly or you may not get any query results For example, New York is not the same as NEW YORK Use the drop-down in the preceding screen to change from Constant to Values From List

6 Click OK to close the List of Values dialog and return to the query panel 7 Notice that in this dialog box, semicolons separate multiple values The two conditions are connected with an AND in the SQL statement In the SQL, the values are separate by commas

Make UCC - 12 In VS .NET
Using Barcode generation for ASP.NET Control to generate, create UCC-128 image in ASP.NET applications.
NOTE The Desktop Intelligence query panel uses commas to separate multiple values, whereas
Barcode Maker In C#.NET
Using Barcode creator for .NET Control to generate, create barcode image in .NET applications.
Recognize Barcode In Java
Using Barcode Control SDK for Java Control to generate, create, read, scan barcode image in Java applications.
when answering a prompt, you use semicolons Web Intelligence uses semicolons in both instances
C AUTION When you enter multiple constants, there are no spaces between the semicolons and
values If you add a space, the SQL will contain a space in the value, for example, Texas versus Texas , and no rows will be returned To view the SQL generated, click the SQL button from the query panel Notice that Web Intelligence has automatically added a WHERE clause Because the object type for State is character, the values are enclosed in single quotes automatically If the filter had been on a numeric object, they would not use quotes
WHERE Outlet_LookupState In ( 'New York','Texas' )

Operators
Operators form the basis of comparison for the object and the values you specify As you add an object to the Query Filters pane, click the down-pointing arrow next to In List to invoke the Operator drop-down menu (Step 3 in the preceding section) Table 20-4 lists the possible operators Some SQL equivalents are different for specific RDBMSs The SQL equivalents listed in Table 20-4 are Oracle-based
Operator Equal to Not Equal To Greater than Greater than or equal to Less than Less than or equal to Between SQL Equivalent = <> or != > >= < <= BETWEEN Explanation Exactly equal to one value Not equal to or different from one value Greater than a particular number, date, or character Greater than or equal to a particular number, date, or character Less than a particular number, date, or character Less than or equal to a particular number, date, or character
PART III
Records between and including the two values for example, Age Between 20 And 30; Price Between 100 and 150; Date Between January 1 And January 23 All values outside a particular range Equal to multiple values, generally to select multiple character values in a noncontiguous list Different from multiple values Rows in which no value has been entered Null is different from zero or blank spaces Records that do not contain a null This allows you to use a wildcard character such as % to find all records that contain or begin with a particular string Use underscore (_) to match one particular space For example, B% is everything that starts with B, %B% contains a B somewhere in the string, and _B% has B as the second position Warning: this type of query filter means an index for the particular column will not be used Does not match the pattern specified Warning: this type of query filter means an index will not be used Retrieves records in which the two values overlap (discussed in 23) Removes records from a main query (discussed in 23)
Not Between In List Not In List Is Null Is Not Null Matches Pattern
NOT BETWEEN IN NOT IN IS NULL IS NOT NULL Like
Different from Pattern Both Except
Not Like INTERSECT MINUS

Operands
Operands allow you to specify the values to which you want to compare the object The list of available operands may change, depending on the object and the operator you specify Constant enables you to manually enter one or more values If you enter multiple values, connect them with a semicolon Value(s) from list allows you to choose one or more values from a pick list, if the universe designer has enabled a list of values for this particular object Prompt allows you to create a prompt for shared reports in which you want users to be able to enter different filters each time the query is executed Object allows you to set the filter to another object For this operand, you may not use In List or Null operators For example, you may create a query that filters orders in which the order date is equal to the ship date as shown in the following image:
