You can select multiple titles from within the Organizer and open, print, or create a PDF document from multiple files You cannot, however, send multiple files for e-mail review If any title you ve selected is no longer stored on your system, the task icons at the top of the organizer are grayed out 5 Click the Sort By drop-down arrow and choose a sorting option from the drop-down menu 6 Click the Sort Order icon to sort the titles by ascending or descending order When the icon is an up-facing right triangle, the current sort is ascending order, and clicking the icon will revert the sort to descending order When the icon is a down-facing right triangle, the current sort is descending order, and clicking the icon will revert the sort to ascending order 7 Click the Favorite Folder icon to open the Browse For Folder dialog box Select a folder and click OK to add it to your Favorite Places tree in the left pane of the Organizer Click a Favorite Places folder icon to display the titles of all PDF documents in that folder You can then perform any of the tasks previously mentioned in this section
Create PDF Collections
You can also use the Acrobat Organizer to create a collection of PDF documents The documents can be in any folder After you create a collection, it appears as an icon in the Collections tree on the left side of the Organizer This is a convenient method of organizing similar documents that appear in many different folders on your computer To create a collection, follow these steps: 1 Click the Create Collection icon in the lower-left corner of the Organizer, shown previously in Figure 3-8 Alternatively, if you don t currently have the Organizer open, click the Organizer task icon and choose Collections | Add New Collection from the drop-down menu Either method adds a new collection to the Collection tree The default name of the new collection is Untitled followed by the next available number 2 Right-click the new collection and choose Rename Collection from the context menu 3 Enter a descriptive name for the new collection 4 Right-click (Windows) or ctrl-click (Macintosh) the collection and choose Add Files from the context menu to open the Select Files To Add To Your Collection dialog box 5 Navigate to the folder that contains the desired files, and select the ones you want to add to your collection 6 Click Add 7 Repeat Steps 4 through 6 to add to the collection any les that are stored in different folders To open an existing collection, launch the Organizer as outlined previously and double-click the desired collection title

To add currently open documents to an existing collection, click the Organizer task icon and choose Add To A Collection Select the collection to which you want to add the documents from the Add To A Collection dialog box and then click OK To delete a collection, right-click (Windows) or ctrl-click (Macintosh) the title you want to delete and then choose Delete Collection from the context menu Note that deleting a collection does not delete the PDF files in the collection from your hard drive
