If Contribute starts loading pages slowly or performs poorly after you ve been using your computer for a while, save your work and reboot your computer

When you create connections to Web sites, you can quickly navigate to the site s home page After you navigate to the home page, you can then navigate to any page in the site that you want to view or edit To navigate to the home page of a site to which you have made a connection, click the Home Pages button or choose View | Home Pages, and from the submenu, select the home page to which you want to navigate

You can hide icon labels from view by right-clicking any icon and deselecting the Show Icon Labels option

If you navigate to certain pages on a regular basis, you can bookmark those pages When you bookmark a page, it is added to the Bookmarks menu After you create a bookmark, you can navigate to the bookmarked page by choosing it from the Bookmarks menu If you bookmark a lot of sites, you can organize your bookmarks into folders When you installed Contribute, the install utility searched your default Web browser for bookmarked pages and added them to the Bookmarks menu To navigate to a site you bookmarked prior to installing Contribute, choose Bookmarks | Other Bookmarks, and then choose the site s name from the submenu

You can create a bookmark at any time You can bookmark pages you visit frequently within other Web sites, or pages within a Web site you are editing The latter option is useful when you edit sites with a lot of pages or you edit pages that open from links within a page instead of a site navigation menu To bookmark a page, follow these steps:

1 Navigate to the page that you want to bookmark 2 Choose Bookmarks | Add Bookmark The Add Bookmark dialog box

uses a Web site s title as the default name for a bookmark The Bookmarks menu expands to include the complete title of a Web site; however, you ll end up with a tidier menu if you replace a long Web site title with a shorter name

If you navigate to many different sites, you may find it helpful to organize your bookmarks into folders You can add as many folders as you need You can store

bookmarks to similar Web sites in a folder You ll find it s easier to organize your bookmarks in folders rather than navigate through a lengthy menu to locate a bookmark to a favorite Web site Figure 4-3 shows a bookmark folder as it appears on the Bookmarks menu This folder has been opened to display the bookmarks within it To create a bookmark folder, follow these steps:

folder If desired, prior to clicking OK, you can name the bookmark as outlined in the previous section The page is bookmarked in the new folder Alternatively, you can click Cancel to exit the Add Bookmark dialog box without creating a bookmark for the page you are currently visiting The new folder will be available when needed for adding new bookmarks

After you organize your bookmarks into several folders, you can add a new bookmark to any existing folder To add a new bookmark to an existing folder, follow these steps:

1 Navigate to the site that you want to bookmark 2 Choose Bookmarks | Add Bookmark The Add Bookmark dialog box

4 Accept the default name for the bookmark, or type a different name 5 Click OK The Add Bookmark dialog box closes

After you organize your bookmarks into folders, you can navigate to specific bookmarks by choosing Bookmarks, clicking the appropriate folder name, and then clicking the bookmark you want to view
