8 Click OK to close the Preferences dialog box Alternatively, choose
another image file type in the Extensions pane to associate with an external image-editing program

Launching an External Image Editor
After you specify an external image editor, you can use it to edit an image that is displayed in a Web page you have already published or to edit an image that you select from a folder on your Web site
Editing Images Displayed in Web Pages
You can edit images that are displayed in Web pages that have been previously published You cannot edit images saved in page drafts that have not been previously uploaded to your Web site To edit an image in a Web page using your primary image-editing program, follow these steps:
1 Navigate to the Web page that contains the image you want to edit, and
then click the Edit Page button
2 Select the image you want to edit 3 To launch the external image-editing program associated with the image
file type, do one of the following: Choose File | Edit Image Right-click, and then choose Edit Image from the context menu After choosing one of the above, Contribute launches the external image editor
4 Edit the image as needed Figure 11-1 shows an image being edited in
Corel Photo-Paint
5 Save the File in the external image editor, and then close the application
Note that if you are editing an image in Fireworks MX, you can save your changes from within the program and exit with the click of a button Editing images in Fireworks MX is covered in 12
6 When you return to Contribute, you ll see the Editing Draft In Another
Application window, as shown in Figure 11-2
7 To preview your changes using your system s default Web browser, choose
File | Preview In Browser
8 After you preview the image, close your browser
