Navigating Through Records
Many forms, such as the Clients form, display your data one record at a time The record navigation buttons are located in the lower-left corner of a form, as shown in Figure 19-2, and help you move through the form s records As the amount of data in your table increases, these buttons will be especially helpful in navigating through the data Another useful tool to help you navigate to a specific record is the Find command, located on the Edit menu The Find command lets you type in a search word or phrase and then searches the data in your form to locate that word or phrase To use the Find command, follow these steps: 1 Click in the field that will contain the data you want to find 2 Choose Edit | Find from the menu bar The Find and Replace dialog box appears

3 Type the text you are looking for in the Find What box 4 The Look In list should already name the field you want to search 5 From the Match list, choose Any Part of Field This choice gives you the most flexibility in finding the text you typed in the Find What box because it instructs Access to locate your search text, whether it is part of a word or a whole word 6 Click Find Next The first record containing the text you are seeking will be highlighted in the field on the form Sometimes you have to drag the dialog box aside because the text you seek can be covered up by the Find dialog box You can also use CTRL-F to open the Find dialog box
