to the user To use the authorization check function, we need to know the user ID, so again we check if this is available Fortunately, it is available in the field SY-UNAME, as shown in Figure 5-83 We make the check in the user exit ABAP code, and if it fails, we send an warning message from the user exit to tell the user the change is not authorized Then we reset the billing block so that VBAK-FAKSK equals YVBAK-FAKSK, and the document is saved without that change

< xml version="10" encoding="UTF-8" > Page 468 In this documentation, we will define and run an ABAP query for a list of customer addresses Definitions The following terms are used: An ABAP query is a tool that reads and displays selected data from the SAP database tables For example, you may have a query to list customers and their telephone numbers A functional area is a group of related queries For example, all the queries related to the customer master data could comprise a functional area A functional area also includes the tables to be used in a query A user group is a group of users who are allowed to use the ABAP queries You assign the SAP user IDs to a user group, and assign the user group to a functional area Using these assignments, SAP can determine which queries the user is permitted to run
First Steps
When you access the ABAP query tool, a list of the existing queries for the current user group and functional area is displayed This screen is displayed below in Figure 5-84
Figure 5-84 List of existing queries
< xml version="10" encoding="UTF-8" > Page 469 From this screen, you can Execute an ABAP query Create or change an ABAP query To execute a query, you can Select one of these queries by pressing the selection box on the left-hand side of the screen and the hitting the Execute button Type the query number and press the Execute button You may want to select a query from a different user group and functional area In this case, go to Edit, Other user group We will look at executing an ABAP query in more detail after describing how to create an ABAP query
Part 1: Creating an ABAP Query
Follow these steps in creating an ABAP query: 1 2 3 4 Create the user group Create the functional area Assign the user group to the functional area Create the query
Step 1: Creating the User Group
From the ABAP query screen, go to Environment, User groups User groups use the transaction code [SQ03], which will provide the screen as shown in Figure 5-85 1 Enter the user group name in the User group field and select Create to create a user group (If you want to change or display a user group, select Change or Display) 2 Enter a description for the user group and press Save 3 After entering a description for the user group, enter the user ID in the User field and press Change A screen appears showing all the existing user groups The user group this user belongs to will be marked You can also see if the user has the authorization to make changes to the queries assigned to this user group

To assign the user to the user group you created in step 1, mark the user group you created and then press Save ( ) This user is now assigned to the user group you just created 4 Repeat these steps for all the users you want to assign to this user group Deleting a User Group You can delete a user group by entering the user group name and selecting User group, Delete Alternatively, press Delete ( ) Copying a User Group You can copy a user group by entering the user group name and selecting User group, Copy Alternatively, press Delete ( ) Renaming a User Group You can rename a user group by entering the user group name and selecting User group, Rename Alternatively, press the Rename button ( )
