Windows Meeting Space uses several of the features of IPv6 to create the peer-to-peer framework used in the meeting It has the ability to automatically detect an existing network and create an ad hoc wireless network if an existing network is not available The requirement to use IPv6 may seem like a limitation However, Windows Vista uses IPv6 by default, and Windows Meeting Space only works with other Windows Vista operating systems, so it shouldn t be an issue unless IPv6 has been disabled If IPv6 is disabled on any of the Windows Vista systems, it will need to enabled on any of the systems that want to join the meeting EXAM TIP Windows Meeting Space requires IPv6, and the Windows Meeting Space exception must be configured in the firewall The Windows Firewall also needs to be configured to support Windows Meeting Space The Windows Firewall was covered in more depth in 7, but you can see the Windows Meeting Space exception enabled in Figure 14-9
