The creation of a public folder is a rather simple task, with the most complex part being that you must know the public folder path in which the folder will reside The command is as follows, with an example shown in Figure 4-5:
New-PublicFolder -Name '<name>' -Path '<PFPath>' -Server '<ServerName>'
Those of you familiar with Exchange 2000/2003 are already used to the fact that creating public folders from a Microsoft management tool does not include specifying the type of content that will reside within them The same is true here; creating a public folder from the Exchange Management Shell will result in a folder that can contain messages TIP If you want to create a public folder that will hold content other than messages, you will need to use Outlook and then use the Exchange Management Shell or the Public Folder Management Console (covered later in this chapter) to configure them
