Adding a Page Number
If you haven t used the Report Wizard and you want to add a page number to your report, choose Insert | Page Numbers to open the Page Numbers dialog box You have several options in the Page Numbers dialog box regarding the page number format, position, and alignment You can also suppress printing the page number on the first page of the report
The dialog box offers two page number formats: Page N and Page N of M, where N is the page number and M is the total number of pages
NOTE You can see the Report Wizard used the Page N of M option in specifying the page numbers
in the Alpha Card with Entries report The expression that appears in the page number text box control is = Page &[Page]& of &[Pages] This expression concatenates alphabetic characters with the Page (current page number) and Pages (total number of pages) field values The characters enclosed in quotation marks appear in the page number field Notice spaces follow the word Page and are on both sides of the word of to separate the words from the numbers The ampersand signs (&) are the concatenation operators The result is, for example, Page 12 of 25 pages You can position the page number either in the page header or footer by selecting from the Position options The page number alignment options include the following:
