Name AutoCorrect Options
The Name AutoCorrect options help Access propagate name changes to objects that refer to the renamed object The group offers three options that help fix common side-effects that occur when you make changes in an object via a user interface Access stores the identifier for each object and tracks naming information When Access notices an object has been changed since the last Name AutoCorrect action, it runs it again for all items in that object For example, if you added a text box to a form that is bound to the Alpha Card table and you change the Alpha Card table name to Alpha Card Plus, Access can track down all of the items from the original Alpha Card and change their names to match the new table name The three options you can check for Name AutoCorrect are as follows: Track Name AutoCorrect Info Stores information it needs to correct naming errors but doesn t immediately correct them You can also look at object dependencies, so that you re aware of potential renaming problems Keeping this option checked is a good idea Perform Name AutoCorrect Tries to update references to objects that you renamed This doesn t cover references in macros and Visual Basic modules Log Name AutoCorrect Changes Creates a log named AutoCorrect Log that contains the changes it makes to the database each time it runs Name AutoCorrect This option becomes available when you check the second option
