replicated database If the s_GUID field is the primary key, you will need to include it in the new table If it is not, don t include it in the Make Table query As the final step, create the same indexes and primary keys used in the replica s tables Then establish all the relationships among the new tables to match those from the replicated database

If you are not converting the database, you can still use the database created in an earlier version with your version 2007 You can open an Access 2000 or 2002 2003 format database in Access 2007 and use it as you normally would, but the new features of 2007 will not be available If you open an Access 95 or 97 database, Access 2007 offers to upgrade it for you If you don t upgrade, you will not be allowed to make design changes You can view objects and change data but not any object designs You are warned that the database is opened

Create UCC-128 In .NET Framework
Using Barcode encoder for ASP.NET Control to generate, create UCC.EAN - 128 image in ASP.NET applications.
Exchange Data with Others
as read-only You must open the database using the version with which it was created to be able to modify object designs or add new objects
You can t link or import an Access 2007 table into an earlier version database running in Access 2007, but you can go the other way around and open the version 2007 database and export tables to the previous version database You can also cut, copy, and paste data from version 2007 tables to previous-version tables
Sharing a Database across Several Access Versions
To use a database with several versions of Access, you can create a front-end/back-end database Leave the data in the oldest version as the back-end and convert the other objects to the later version front-end To build the shared-file Access database, do the following: 1 Convert the entire database to Access 2007 2 Open the converted database, and on the Database Tools tab s Move Data group, click the Access Database command 3 Split the database into a front-end and back-end, and then delete the back-end database created by the Database Splitter Wizard 4 On the Database Tools tab s Database Tools group, click the Linked Table Manager command to link the new Access 2007 front-end to the tables in the previousversion database Now you have the best of both worlds: users of previous versions of Access can continue to use the previous version, while users who have upgraded to Access 2007 can add new features to the database objects in their front-end databases
TIP If the database is already a front-end/back-end application, you need only to convert the front-end
and leave the back-end alone Then run the Linked Table Manager to link the converted front-end to the original back-end database
NOTE For more information about converting Access files, see the Help topic Convert a Database
to the Access 2007 File Format

What s on the CD
n the CD that accompanies this book is a reference resource that you can use to look up specific details of properties, specifications, formats, and other items that apply to designing and creating Access databases It also contains all the material that you will need to reproduce the Access database objects described in the text You have a choice of developing the database designs from scratch using the table data or viewing and working with the completed databases
Using the Access Quick Reference
To use the Quick Reference, you must have Adobe Acrobat installed on your computer or you can download the latest version of the free Adobe Reader at http://wwwadobecom/ products/reader/ To view the Quick Reference material, double-click the PDF file When it opens, you ll see a listing of contents in the left pane and the space where the pages will be displayed on the right pane If you select any topic on the left pane, the pages associated with the topic will automatically display on the right You can use the magnification tools on the View menu to make the text more readable and to enlarge any detail on a given page The following shows an outline of the information in the Quick Reference, which you can readily reach on the CD
