The DatePicker control is used to display a Calendar control to the user for the selection of a date value The calendar displayed by the DatePicker is shown only when the user clicks the DatePicker control Once the user makes a selection from the displayed Calendar control, the selected value is returned and the calendar is hidden The DatePicker is intended to be used for a single date value selection, so as to not consume the user interface real estate necessary to display a full Calendar control The following markup illustrates the use of a DatePicker control:

Expander Control
The Expander control is typically used for user interface organization and navigation purposes The Expander control displays a header with a caption that describes its contents The Expander control also displays a button in the header that expands and collapses the contained region The Expander control is useful for integrating controls and sections into a user interface that may not be used as often The following markup illustrates an Expander control:
<UserControl xmlns="http://schemasmicrosoftcom/winfx/2006/xaml/presentation" xmlns:x="http://schemasmicrosoftcom/winfx/2006/xaml" xmlns:d="http://schemasmicrosoftcom/expression/blend/2008" xmlns:mc="http://schemasopenxmlformatsorg/markupcompatibility/2006" mc:Ignorable="d" xmlns:controls="clr-namespace:SystemWindowsControls; assembly=SystemWindowsControls" x:Class="L0814Page" d:DesignHeight="300" d:DesignWidth="400"> <Grid x:Name="LayoutRoot" Background="White"> <controls:Expander Margin="8,8,198,62"

</Grid> </UserControl>

HyperlinkButton Control
A HyperlinkButton control is displayed like a standard HTML hyperlink but has an associated Click event so that it behaves like a standard Button control The hyperlink button also behaves like a standard HTML hyperlink if its NavigateUri property is set to a valid URL, as shown in the following markup:
<UserControl x:Class="L0815Page" xmlns="http://schemasmicrosoftcom/winfx/2006/xaml/presentation" xmlns:x="http://schemasmicrosoftcom/winfx/2006/xaml" xmlns:d="http://schemasmicrosoftcom/expression/blend/2008" xmlns:mc="http://schemasopenxmlformatsorg/markupcompatibility/2006" mc:Ignorable="d"

Image Control
An Image control is used to display an image Silverlight supports the display of popular web image formats, including JPG and PNG However, due to legalities, it does not support the display of GIF files The following markup illustrates the use of an Image control:
<UserControl x:Class="L0816Page" xmlns="http://schemasmicrosoftcom/winfx/2006/xaml/presentation" xmlns:x="http://schemasmicrosoftcom/winfx/2006/xaml" xmlns:d="http://schemasmicrosoftcom/expression/blend/2008" xmlns:mc="http://schemasopenxmlformatsorg/markupcompatibility/2006" mc:Ignorable="d" d:DesignHeight="300" d:DesignWidth="400"> <Grid x:Name="LayoutRoot" Background="White"> <Image Height="200" Source="babyPigsjpg" /> </Grid> </UserControl>

Label Control
A Label control is simply a text string displayed in an application A Label control differs from a TextBlock control in its intended use Most user interface controls have a descriptive label next to and associated with them that identifies the intended purpose of the control Prior to Silverlight 3, user interface control labels were created using a TextBlock control Silverlight 3 introduces the Label control designed for this use The Label control is a simple control but includes some properties and behavior that lend to easier user interface navigation
Listbox Control
The Listbox control is identical to the Combobox control except that the Listbox is not a dropdown control; instead, it remains expanded Additionally, the Listbox control does not include functionality to automatically accommodate a user adding new options to the list The following markup illustrates a Listbox control:
<UserControl x:Class="L0817Page" xmlns="http://schemasmicrosoftcom/winfx/2006/xaml/presentation" xmlns:x="http://schemasmicrosoftcom/winfx/2006/xaml" xmlns:d="http://schemasmicrosoftcom/expression/blend/2008"

PasswordBox Control
The PasswordBox control is a Textbox control that is designed to mask input so that it is not evident what input value is being entered Bear in mind that the PasswordBox does not protect or encrypt input in any way but simply masks the input values The following markup illustrates a PasswordBox control and a TextBlock control When the PasswordBox control loses focus, it displays the input password value in the TextBlock control
<UserControl x:Class="L0818Page" xmlns="http://schemasmicrosoftcom/winfx/2006/xaml/presentation" xmlns:x="http://schemasmicrosoftcom/winfx/2006/xaml" xmlns:d="http://schemasmicrosoftcom/expression/blend/2008" xmlns:mc="http://schemasopenxmlformatsorg/markupcompatibility/2006" mc:Ignorable="d" d:DesignHeight="123" d:DesignWidth="400"> <Grid x:Name="LayoutRoot" Background="White" Height="116"> <PasswordBox Height="23" HorizontalAlignment="Left" Margin="12,12,0,0" Name="passwordBox1" VerticalAlignment="Top" Width="170" LostFocus="passwordBox1_LostFocus" /> <TextBlock Height="61" HorizontalAlignment="Left" Margin="12,41,0,0" Name="tbPassword" Text="" VerticalAlignment="Top" Width="376" /> </Grid> </UserControl>
