Using a previous snapshot of the system, System Restore rolls back the image to a known good state For information about using System Restore, see 14 You can run System Restore either while Vista is fully loaded or within WinRE The difference between the two is that while running System Restore in WinRE, a new restore point is not created If you run System Restore from the WinRE, you will not be able to undo the restore
Complete PC Restore
Use the Complete PC Restore command in the WinRE to restore an image of the computer Beware all data on the computer is at risk of being lost when restoring this way Restoring a backup image of a computer replaces the current contents of the disk with images made previously When you restore the computer this way, the hard disk drive is formatted and wiped clean Afterward, the Vista operating system, your installed applications, your configurations, and your data are all returned to the state they were in at the time you made the backup
