CONNECTING TO THE INTERNET
If yours is a large organization, your clients are probably already connecting to the Internet through the network However, if your organization is such that your clients need to connect to the Internet through modems or a broadband connection (like mobile users or home users, for instance), Windows Vista make the connection using the Set Up A Connection Or Network Wizard With this wizard, you tell Vista what type of connection you re using and how it should be configured This is used for analog, DSL, Integrated Services Digital Network (ISDN), or cable modem connections This section explains how to use the wizard to configure your client for Internet connectivity
Using the Set Up A Connection Or Network Wizard
The Set Up A Connection Or Network Wizard makes the process of establishing a new connection easier than it had been in previous incarnations of Windows To activate the wizard: 1 Click Start | Control Panel 2 Click Network And Internet 3 Click Network And Sharing Center 4 In the tasks pane, click Set Up A Connection Or Network The resulting wizard is shown in Figure 5-21

Internet Connection
This selection helps you build your connection for Internet access This connection automatically assumes you ll be connecting via a broadband (DSL or cable) connection Vista examines your computer and asks what type of device you ll be using for a connection For example, in Figure 5-22, we re using a DSL modem to connect You can tell Windows Vista what type of technology you ll be using for your broadband connection, but if you do not, it will automatically search your system and configure the connection, assuming that the device is already in place on your computer
