Anti-aliasing adds colors to your image, so if you re concerned about file size, consider choosing None to reduce the number of colors in your image The trade-off is that any curved edges in your text will appear jagged and rough

To change the anti-aliasing method for text before it s created, click first on any Type tool in the toolbox Then, click the Anti-aliasing drop-down menu in the Options bar or the Paragraph palette and select the desired method To change the anti-aliasing method for text that s already been created, use the Type tool to highlight the text before changing the method in the Options bar or the Paragraph palette

What good is editable text if you can t change its color With Photoshop, you don t even have to ask that question, because there are many ways to edit the color of text both before and after it s been created To specify the color of text before creating it, click once on the foreground color swatch in the toolbox and select the color in which you want your text to be displayed By default, Photoshop always creates text using the color in the foreground color swatch

To change the color of selected text after it s been created, highlight the text in question with the Type tool and do one of the following: Click the color box in the Options bar to bring up the Color Picker, from which you can select a different color for your text Choose Window | Character to make the character palette visible Click the color box in the Character palette to bring up the Color Picker, from which you can select a different color for your text Choose Layer | Layer Style | Color Overlay to add an overlay of color to the layer You can further refine the color by specifying a blend mode and opacity level from within the Color Overlay options

Before you can spell-check your document, you need to make sure the correct language is specified in the Character palette, so Photoshop knows which dictionary to use Choose Window | Character to display the Character palette, and select the appropriate language from the menu at the bottom The default is English: USA To spell-check all the text in a document, choose Edit | Check Spelling (To spell-check specific text, highlight the text with the Type tool before choosing Edit | Check Spelling)
