A quick note here: Don t confuse categories in Quicken Home Inventory with categories in Quicken. The two terms are used differently. Quicken Home Inventory categories have nothing to do with Quicken categories.
Policies
The Policies button displays the Policies dialog, shown next, which enables you to add, modify, or remove information about insurance policies. It also displays a list of entered items by insurance policy. (You can set the insurance policy for an item in the Detail View window, shown earlier.)
When you click the dialog s New button to create a new policy or Edit button to edit an existing policy, the New Policy or Edit Policy dialog appears. Use it to enter details about the policy, including the contact information for making changes or claims. If you enter a coverage amount for a policy, it appears in the Policies dialog, along with the difference between the coverage amount and the

value of insured items. A negative number indicates that you don t have enough insurance to cover all items.
Claims
The Claims button displays the Insurance Claims dialog, which lists any claims you have entered into Quicken Home Inventory. To create a new claim, click the New button in the dialog. A new Claim Instructions dialog appears, with information about creating a claim. Read the instructions and click OK to dismiss it. Then fill out the fields in the New Claim dialog to enter details about the claim. You can click the Items button to display a list of all items entered in Quicken Home Inventory for the policy you selected. Then select each item you want to include in your claim and click OK. When you re finished entering information in the New Claim dialog, click OK. A new dialog appears, asking if you want to create a report showing the claim information. Click Yes to create the report onscreen, and then click Print to print it and click Close to return to the Quicken Home Inventory List View window.
