hen you first set up your Quicken Personal Finance Software data file, it includes a number of default categories based on check boxes you toggled in the Setup tab s Overview subtab. Don t think you re stuck with just those categories. You can add and remove categories at any time. The same goes for accounts you can add them as you see fit. Modifying the accounts and categories in your Quicken data file is a great way to customize Quicken to meet your needs. In this chapter, I explain how to modify and work with the Quicken accounts and categories you ll use to organize your finances. I also explain how to set up an optional categorization feature: tags.
