The Scheduled Bills & Deposits Window
The Scheduled Bills & Deposits window (refer to Figure 7-2) displays a list of all future transactions. To view and work with the list, choose Banking | Scheduled Bills & Deposits List or press CTRL-J.
Button Bar Options You can use button bar options to create, modify, delete, or enter scheduled transactions:
Enter immediately enters the selected transaction into the appropriate register. Skip enables you to skip the payment (or next payment) of that transaction. Create New enables you to create a new scheduled transaction or paycheck. I explain how to add a scheduled transaction earlier in this chapter and how to add a paycheck later in this chapter. Edit displays an Edit dialog that you can use to modify the selected transaction. The dialog that appears varies depending on the type of transaction that is selected when you click Edit. Delete removes the scheduled transaction. It does not remove any transactions that have already been entered in a register. Options offers commands for changing the way the Scheduled Bills & Deposits window is sorted. Print prints a list of scheduled transactions. How Do I displays the Quicken Personal Finances Help window with instructions for completing tasks with the Scheduled Bills & Deposits window.
Window Tabs The Scheduled Bills & Deposits window has four tabs that
organize the transactions:
Monthly Bills & Deposits (see Figure 7-7) displays all scheduled transactions for the month. You can click the arrows beside the name of the month to view transactions for other months. All Bills & Deposits (refer to Figure 7-2) displays all types of scheduled transactions. Scheduled displays all scheduled transactions that are not repeating online payments. This tab only appears if you have at least one scheduled transaction.
7 / Automating Transactions and Tasks
Figure 7-7 The Monthly Bills & Deposits tab of the Scheduled Bills & Deposits window shows you the scheduled bills and deposits for the month.
Repeating Online displays only repeating online payments. This tab only appears if you have at least one account set up for online payments. I discuss repeating online payments in 6.
Display Check Boxes Two check boxes enable you to display additional
information in the window, as shown in Figures 7-2 and 7-7:
Show Graph displays a column chart showing cash flow for a selected account for the month. Show Calendar displays one or two calendars that indicate dates on which transactions will be made.
Status Column The Status column in the Scheduled Bills & Deposits window
provides information about the current status of the transaction.
Action Column The Action column of the Scheduled Bills & Deposits window
may include buttons for working with a transaction. If a transaction has not yet

been processed, you can click a button beside the transaction to enter, edit, or skip it. The buttons that appear beside an item vary depending on the window tab the item appears on and the item s status. I explain how to use these buttons to enter, edit, and skip transactions in the section titled Working with Scheduled Transactions, later in this chapter.
Scheduled Bills & Deposits Lists
Scheduled Bills & Deposits lists appear in a number of places throughout Quicken. For example:
The My Pages tab can display a complete list of Scheduled Bills & Deposits. You can click a button beside each transaction to enter, edit, or skip it. You can also display a small graph and calendar to indicate total account balance and transaction dates. I explain how to customize the My Pages tab in Appendix B. Each account register window can include a Scheduled Bills & Deposits list, like the one shown next. The list includes only the transactions scheduled for that account. You can click a button beside each transaction to enter, edit, or skip it. If this list does not appear in the bottom of a register window, click the Scheduled Bills & Deposits tab to display it.
