Any of the client copy functions generate a log file which can be displayed by using transaction SCC3. From the administration initial menu, select Administration Client admin. Copy logs. The system displays a list with the target clients for the copies, number of runs, and date of last run, and a short status text. From the initial screen you can select the copy log you want to display and navigate to see the full details of a copy process. To do this, double click on the needed client line. The system displays the list of logs. Select one to display the client copy log analysis. Then to display the full copy log, select Log from the application toolbar.

If for any reason (such as database storage problems) the copying process has been canceled, when trying to reexecute the same copy process, the system allows you to restart the copy at the point where it was previously terminated, using the same parameters as before. The client copy programs use the client copy control flow table, CCCFLOW, which includes checkpoints. When you are presented with the option of restarting the copy process but you don't want to use the restart option, select the NEWSTART option.

Example: suppose you want to copy client 005 from a source system TT1 to target system DD1. The target client can be 005 or any other client. If the client does not exist in the target system, DD1, first log on to the target system in any existing client and create the new client by using the standard function, for example, Tools Administration Administration Client admin. Client maintenance. If the client already exists in the target system, you should first delete it. Refer to the previous section on deleting clients. Log on in the source system in the client you want to copy (to export). In this example, system TT1 and client 371

Deleting Clients 005. Enter transaction SCC8 in the command field or, alternatively, select Administration Client admin. Client transport from the initial administration menu. Enter the same data as you would in a normal copy procedure between clients in the same system, and select the export option. You must select what you wish to transport by using one of the existing copy profiles, as shown in Fig. 10 13. Copy profile management is explained in the next section. Execute the copy in the background. When the export is finished, you get the following files in the transport directory: Data files: /usr/sap/trans/data/ROnnnnnn.TT1 /usr/sap/trans/data/RTnnnnnn.TT1 Control files: /usr/sap/trans/cofiles/KOnnnnnn.TT1 (client independent objects) /usr/sap/trans/cofiles/KXnnnnnn.TT1 (client dependent long texts) /usr/sap/trans/cofiles/KTnnnnnn.TT1 (client dependent tables) where <nnnnnn> is a system generated transport number. Now you have to import those transport files manually using the tp transport control program. The transport order is: TT1KOnnnnnn TT1KTnnnnnn Now, log on at the operating system level as user dd1adm, and go to the bin transport directory. Remember that TT1 is source system, DD1 is target system, and 005 is the example client number. Commands are:

After importing the KO and KT, you have to run transaction SCC7 in the target system for the import postprocessing, in which text files are automatically imported. Check the transport log for errors. For releases before 4.0, the process is a bit different: log onto the target system (DD1) and client (005) and run the report RSCLIIMP. You can run this report using the standard transactions SA38 or SE38. Enter the report name and click on Execute. When this report is executed, the screen will request you to enter the command filename. In this example, the command file is TT1KTnnnnn. This report is useful for ensuring that the import was performed consistently. It is very important that this report be run on the target client; otherwise you will not know for sure if the tp commands ended successfully. Sometimes RSCLIIMP can report errors during verification of the existence of previous imports. The checks and actions performed by the RSCLIIMP report are also achieved by the RSCCXSUB report without verifying the existence of a previous report. If the texts have also been exported, they must be imported by running the RSTXR3TR report, assigning the /usr/sap/trans/data directory as the input parameter, where the text data file has been previously exported with the SCC2 transaction.
