There is a very simple way to increase the power of pigmentation of fruits and vegetables through daily drinks. I have created both a vegetable and a fruit drink. Two glasses of each every day will increase your intake of vegetables and fruits significantly.
Easy Vegetable Intake
DR. SLAGA S VEGETABLE DRINK 16 ounces commercial vegetable juice (Knudsen Very Veggie or V-8) 1 4 cup diced green pepper 1 2 cup broccoli sprouts, alfalfa sprouts, and/or bean sprouts 1 4 cup water chestnuts 1 4 cup roasted soybeans, walnuts, and/or sunflower seeds 1 peeled lemon
S U P E R F O O D S T H AT D E T O X I F Y
Combine all the ingredients in a food processor or high-speed blender and blend until smooth. You can adjust the amount of vegetable juice to attain the desired consistency. Drink immediately. Four servings.
Many studies have found that the flavonoids including polyphenols and phenolic acid from green and black tea, coffee, and red wine; carotenoids and especially lycopene in tomatoes; and lutein in peas, carrots, and squashes enhance antioxidant detoxification. Carotenoids have also been shown to be effective in preventing breast and prostate cancer. Incidentally, it is a well-established fact that carotenoids can also improve eyesight.
Easy Fruit Intake
DR. SLAGA S FRUIT DRINK 2 cup plain nonfat yogurt 4 cup blueberries 1 2 cup red seedless grapes 1 2 cup mixed strawberries and raspberries 1 2 cup peeled and diced orange and grapefruit 1 4 ripe, medium-size banana 11 2 cup orange juice with pulp 11 2 cup grapefruit juice with pulp
Combine all the ingredients in a high-speed blender. The amount of orange and grapefruit juice can be adjusted for desired consistency and taste. Drink immediately. Four servings.

Spice Up Your Life
Not only fruits and vegetables but also spices contain important classes of phytochemicals that make unique contributions to all aspects of our detoxification systems. One such class is the ever-important flavonoids. Another is terpenoids. Mono-, di-, and triterpenoids are found in spices such as rosemary, sage, oregano, basil, and thyme. Monoterpenoids are important in the elimination of potentially carcinogenic forms of estrogens, which are associated with breast cancer. Diterpenoids and triterpenoids have potent antioxidant, anti-inflammatory properties that aid xenobiotic as well as antioxidant detoxification processes. Animal studies have shown that diterpenoids and triterpenoids are effective inhibitors of cancer, especially skin, breast, and colon cancer.
D ETOXIFYING S PICES
To help detoxify dangerous forms of estrogen associated with breast cancer and to inhibit the formation of skin and colon cancer, be sure you cook with rosemary, sage, oregano, and thyme.
Spices also contain phenolic compounds, a class of phytochemicals with powerful antioxidant properties, which some studies show to be effective inhibitors of cancer development. Peppers contain several phenolic compounds that have antioxidizing activity and enhance our xenobiotic detoxification capabilities. Chili peppers (red peppers) contain capsaicinoids, which are effective antioxidants and anti-inflammatory agents and inhibit pain. Black pepper contains phenolic compounds such as piperine and related compounds that are effective in xenobiotic detoxification and help with the absorption of many phytochemicals. Curcumins are phenolic compounds present in turmeric and mustard. Possessing strong antioxidant properties, curcumins also inhibit cell proliferation and behave as anti-inflammatory agents, helping to reduce the activity of cyclooxygenase-2 (cox-2), a key enzyme associated with a number of inflammatory diseases and cancers. In terms of cancer, curcumins have been found to be a potent inhibitor of colon, breast, and prostate cancers. Additional phytochemicals in spices include ginerol, an extremely important cancer inhibitor found in ginger; eugenol from cloves; coumarins from coriander, cumin, and cinnamon; and carnosol and rosmarinic acid from rosemary and sage. Paprika supports proper detoxification functions.
