Too many problems found. The pilot test ran to completion, but more problems were found than can be resolved before the go-live date. The best option is to delay the go-live date and resolve all issues before implementation. The second-best option is to enter a build x cycle during implementation, which we discuss below. Pilot test failed. In this case, there were so many problems that the pilot test could not be run all the way to completion. Why is disaster looming if the pilot test fails Because we have three sets of problems to resolve, and we only know what one set of the problems is:   One set is the list of known problems, including the reason the pilot test failed and the other problems we have already discovered. The second set is the set of problems that we would have found had we completed the pilot test. But we did not discover them because we did not run those parts of the pilot test, or we did not give users enough time to nd and report them. The third set of problems is the problems we will create while we are xing the problems in set one. For example, in software development, research shows that one new bug is created for every ve lines of code edited. Since we may have to edit more than one line of code to x each problem we know about, we could be creating quite a number of new problems.

And who could do it better By the end of the project, you and your team are the experts on the product or service you have created, and you have a thorough understanding of its environment and your customers. Implementation Plan Basics The product or service we have created may have only one type of component, or have multiple types of components. Each component may need to be installed only once, or may need to be installed at or delivered to many locations. And the environments into which these components are being installed may all be similar, or they may not be standardized. These are the major variables we take into account in implementation planning. As a result, we can choose one of these types of implementation:  Single installation. The product is installed at a single location.  Multiple installations. The product is installed to a few sites.  Simple deployment.
