If a report includes a graph, either the graph or a Show Graph button will appear at the top of the report window. Clicking the Show Graph button will display the graph. The button will then turn into a Hide Graph button; clicking it hides the graph. Similarly, the report window may include a Hide Report or Show Report button, depending on whether the report is displayed or hidden. You can display a large graph instead of a report, as shown in Figure 9-11, by clicking the Show Graph button and then clicking the Hide Report button.

Customizing Reports and Graphs
You can customize just about any report or graph you create so it shows only the information you want to display. When you can customize it, however, depends on how you create it:
When you create a report or graph using the Reports & Graphs center window (refer to Figure 9-7), you can customize it before or after you create it. When you create a report using commands under the Reports menu, the Report button in the button bar, or a command on a contextual menu, you can customize it only after you create it.
Customization options vary from one type of report or graph to another. It s impossible to cover all variables in this chapter. I will, however, tell you about the most common options so you know what to expect. I m sure you ll agree that Quicken s reporting feature is very flexible when you go beyond the basics.
Using the Customize Dialog
To customize a report or graph, click the Customize button in the options area for the report or graph in the Reports & Graphs center window (refer to Figure 9-7) or the Customize button at the top of the report window (refer to Figures 9-8 through 9-11). The Customize dialog, which is shown on the next page, appears. The dialog s full name includes the name of the report or graph. The Customize dialog includes up to seven tabs of options that you can set to customize the report:
Display (shown in the next illustration) enables you to set display options for the report, such as the title, row and column headings, organization, number formatting, and columns. Accounts enables you to select the accounts that should be included in the report. Quicken will include transactions or balances in only the accounts you specify in the report. Categories enables you to select the categories to include in the report. If desired, you can use this tab to include only transactions for which the payee, category, or memo contains certain text.
9 / Examining Your Banking Activity
Payees makes it possible to select the payees to include in the report. If desired, you can use this tab to include only transactions for which the category, payee, or memo contains certain text. Tags enables you to select the tags to include in the report. If desired, you can use this tab to include only transactions for which the payee, tag, or memo contains certain text. This tab, which appears only if you have at least one tag defined, makes it possible to generate reports by tag. I tell you about tags in 3. Category Groups enables you to select the category groups to include in the report. I tell you about category groups in s 3 and 18. Advanced enables you to set additional criteria for transactions to be included in the report, such as amount, status, and transaction type.
No matter which tab is selected, you also have access to the Date Range area, which you can use to specify a date or range of dates for the report. Once you have set options as desired, click the Show Report, Show Graph, or OK button. (The button that appears varies depending on whether you can create a report, a graph, or both from within the dialog and how you opened the dialog.) If you are creating the report or graph from the Reports & Graphs center window (refer to Figure 9-7), Quicken creates the report or graph to your specifications. If you are customizing an existing report or graph, Quicken
