Customizing is the process of setting values and parameters in order to adapt and define the behavior required for the alert monitor when alerts occur as well as the way alerts are handled and displayed by the corresponding monitors or MTEs. Within this customizing process, there are several types of settings: General settings. These settings mainly affect the management of the alert for instance, to which users should it be visible, how many alerts should be kept, and so on. Table 12 1 shows the general settings options.

The same settings then apply for all monitoring attributes in the group, and to maintain the settings you only have to maintain the customizing group.
