There are several possibilities as the result of the batch input session processing. If you ran the session interactively and do not cancel it with the /bend code, you have to proceed until the system displays the message saying that the batch input processing is terminated. When the session was generated using the KEEP option within the BDC_OPEN_GROUP function module, the system always keeps the session in the queue, whether it has been processed successfully or not. However, if the session status is Processed, it cannot be run again. In these cases, you have to manually delete it to remove it from the queue. When session processing is successfully completed and the KEEP option was not set, it will be automatically removed from the session queue. You can only display the log file for the session. If the batch input session is terminated with errors, and therefore appears in the session list with status Incorrect, it can be processed again. Remember that this status is set as soon as any of the transactions in the session have been aborted. In those cases, the system keeps processing the correct transactions. The log file contains those transactions which were incorrectly processed. The system only flags transaction errors with messages of type E (error) and A (abnormal termination). To correct an abnormally terminated session, you can use some of the available functions to analyze what happened, and then you can use any of the interactive processing modes to correct those errors. The analysis functions allow to determine which screens and values produced the error. If you find only small typing errors for very few transactions, you can correct them interactively. Otherwise, you might need to modify the batch input program which generated the session or even the data file. After making those changes, you have to generate the session again, making sure that it does not include those transactions which were previously completed.

You can analyze sessions to display the transactions, data, and screens which were processed or are going to be processed. That means that you can analyze the sessions before or after the session has been run. To analyze a session, select one from the session overview list, and then choose Goto Analysis Analyze session from the menu or click on the Session push button on the application toolbar. The system displays a dialog box, as shown in Fig. B 4, where you select whether to display the content of data (old analysis) and whether you want to analyze all transactions or only the incorrect ones.

Using Barcode generation for Software Control to generate, create UCC.EAN - 128 image in Software applications.
Create Bar Code In None
Using Barcode printer for Software Control to generate, create barcode image in Software applications.
Figure B 4: Options for analyzing batch input sessions. If you choose to analyze all transactions, the system will show the Analyze Batch Input Sessions screen with the session being analyzed. When you double click on the session, the system displays all the session information and possible errors. From this screen you can access the session log or the session data. If you selected the Contents (old analysis) radio button, then the system displays three columns with the transactions, the status of the processing, and the screen numbers. Figure B 5 shows an example. When the status column is empty, it means that the transaction has not yet been processed. It might also contain the Processed, Incorrect, or Deleted values.

Using Barcode maker for Software Control to generate, create UPC - 13 image in Software applications.
Generate Bar Code In None
Using Barcode generator for Software Control to generate, create barcode image in Software applications.
Figure B 5: Session analysis screen example. For small sessions, the system only shows the list of transactions and, in the application toolbar, the push buttons Log and Data. However, for large sessions, the system displays additional buttons which allow you to read the sessions in blocks to prevent time outs. You can move forward and backward in sessions blocks. In the session analysis screen, you can display the contents for a particular transaction by selecting a line in the display and then clicking on the Data push button. Figure B 6 shows an example. 650
